PolyUnity Opens New St. John’s Headquarters and Announces Transformative Partnerships with Fonemed, Polyamyna, and Genesis AI Garage

November 3, 2025

Newfoundland and Labrador companies unite to deliver world-leading healthcare innovations in virtual care, antimicrobial materials, and artificial intelligence.

St. John’s, NL – November 3, 2025PolyUnity Tech Inc. today officially opened its new headquarters in downtown St. John’s, marking a major milestone for Newfoundland and Labrador’s growing health technology sector. The company also announced strategic partnerships with three Canadian homegrown innovators — Fonemed, Polyamyna, and the Genesis AI Garage — to deliver next-generation healthcare solutions across Canada.

“These partnerships represent the future of healthcare — safer, smarter, and more accessible,” said Jacqueline Lee, CEO of PolyUnity Tech Inc. “By bringing together virtual care, antimicrobial materials, advanced manufacturing, and AI, we are showing that Newfoundland and Labrador can lead the world in healthcare innovation.”

PolyUnity, a Canadian leader in advanced manufacturing for healthcare, designs and produces medical products and equipment through its digital i3D.Health platform — a fully managed, regulatory-compliant service that allows hospitals to locally design, approve, and 3D print solutions on demand.

Fonemed, a global leader in virtual healthcare innovation, has introduced its Virtual Care Pod and Mobile Care Kit — with PolyUnity as a valued partner in the design and placement of the devices, incorporating locally produced antimicrobial materials. Built right here in NL by Fonemed’s team of software developers for use in international markets, these technologies enable real-time remote biometric assessment — including auscultation of heart and lung sounds, otoscopic and dermatoscopic imaging, and other diagnostic tools — allowing clinicians to assess, diagnose, and treat patients from virtually anywhere.

“This changes the game,” said Charlene Brophy, President & CEO of Fonemed. “We’re eliminating barriers to care - distance, staffing shortages, and system bottlenecks - by giving clinicians real-time tools to assess, diagnose, and treat patients anywhere. This is healthcare without walls; safe, scalable, and built for impact. Built by our people, for our people.”

Fonemed is proud to acknowledge PolyUnity as a key partner, their design expertise and locally produced 3D-printed antimicrobial materials were instrumental in bringing this vision to life.

Today, less than one percent of Fonemed’s Nurse Practitioner virtual visits require escalation to in-person care, underscoring the effectiveness of this model in resolving health concerns remotely.

Polyamyna brings its proprietary antimicrobial tech to the table to co-develop PolyAura, a novel antimicrobial 3D Printing filament delivering 99.9% bacterial reduction on printed medical components. The collaboration integrates this material directly into healthcare products — from device handles to workstations — to improve infection control and patient safety.

“Together with PolyUnity, we’re embedding antimicrobial protection directly into the healthcare environment,” said Robert Hoyles, VP of Polyamyna. “It’s a practical, science-driven way to make hospitals safer and more sustainable.”

The Genesis AI Garage partnership will accelerate PolyUnity’s use of artificial intelligence to optimize product design, quality and regulatory approvals, manufacturing, and logistics through predictive analytics and automation.

“We’re so excited to be working with the talented team at PolyUnity,” said Ed Martin, CEO of Genesis. “Partnerships like this show what’s possible when local innovators come together to build meaningful technology right here in Newfoundland and Labrador.”

“These collaborations showcase what’s possible when we work together — local innovation solving global healthcare challenges,” said Stephen Ryan, Co-Founder and CMO of PolyUnity. “From Newfoundland and Labrador to British Columbia, we’re proving that healthcare transformation can start right here at home.”
